JUNE DEVOTIONAL LONG FORM

The Parables and Teachings of Jesus

June 1st Mark 4 Verse 2 “And He taught them many things by parables, (a parable is a natural illustration to get across or convey a spiritual truth) and said unto them in His doctrine (teaching) …” During Jesus’ earthly ministry He spoke to the highly educated as well as to the working man in terms they could easily understand. He taught spiritual things to fishermen, carpenters, farmers, and everyday people like you and me so simply that we can easily get a picture in our minds of exactly what He wants us to learn. We are starting off this month by going through the Gospels and looking closely at the things Jesus taught. They definitely speak to us today to help us know how to live in our everyday real lives.

Faith Confession: Because I know that Jesus is alive and lives in me through the Holy Spirit, I will study and listen in my heart to His teachings. I will listen as if He were here with me, talking to me personally because I know He is.

June 2nd Matthew 4:18 “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. Verse 19 And He said unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. Verse 20 And straightway they left their nets, and followed Him.” Simply speaking Jesus sees us and what we do in life. Witnessing and soul winning are to be a part of our Christian walk. He told Peter and Andrew, in fishing terms, to catch people by telling them about Jesus. In January of 1980 He saw Bernie Samples driving a truck and He said, “Follow Me and instead of delivering freight, I will teach you to deliver men from satan’s bondage and lead them into the light of the Kingdom of God. Then just like the disciples in Verse 20, immediately I began to follow Jesus.

Faith Confession: Whatever your position in life is, make this confession. As a disciple of Jesus Christ, as I follow Him, I know He is teaching me how to rescue my fellow human beings from the darkness of satan’s kingdom and bringing them to the light of Jesus Christ and His salvation.

June 3rd Matthew 13:47 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered every kind of fish: Verse 48 which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good fish into vessels, but cast the bad away. Verse 49 So shall it be at the end of the age: the angels shall come forth, and separate the wicked from among the just, Verse 50 and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” Jesus is telling us how real spiritual things and eternity are. We need to be very serious and focus on Jesus to help us be bold to share the truth of the Gospel.

Faith Confession: I have personally lived my life around the following confession: Heaven is real, Hell is real and Eternity is forever. I’ll do my best to stay saved and live like a Christian every day. Make this your personal confession too!

June 4th Mark 4 For the next few days we are going to study Mark 4:1-34. Today read verses 1-9 before I begin to teach. Remember a parable is a natural illustration to get across a spiritual truth. Verse 2 In these verses Jesus is talking about farming and gardening. Verse 3 A sower could be you or me planting seeds into the ground, Verse 4 If seeds lay on top of the ground birds will eat them. Verses 5 and 6 This seed was planted on hard ground full of rocks, so it had no root system. In the hot sun it dried up and died. Verse 7 The weeds and thistles crowded out and choked the good plants and they bore no fruit. Verse 8 This seed was in good soil, was well watered, and the right amount of sunlight shone upon it and it grew and produced a good crop thirty, sixty, and even hundred times as much. Verse 9 “And He said unto them, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Faith Confession: Jesus, I want to learn everything I can from You. Thank You for giving me spiritual ears and teaching me how Your Kingdom operates.

June 5th Mark 4 Verse 10 “And when He was alone, they that were about Him with the twelve asked of Him the parable. Verse 11 And He said unto them, Unto you is given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God but unto them that are outside all these things are done in parables…” Verse 13 “And He said unto them, do you not understand this parable? And how then will you understand all parables?” I want to point out verse 10 there was a crowd with the twelve disciples that Jesus was teaching. Verse 11 Religious people say “God moves in mysterious ways His wonders to perform.” But Jesus said to us, His disciples, “He wants to reveal to us the secrets of how God moves on the earth today.” Verse 13 Jesus said, “When you understand this parable you will understand all of My parables.” In other words, this is the most important parable that Jesus ever taught. This is the master key to understanding how the Kingdom of God operates.

Faith Confession: Jesus, I will not read this parable quickly. I will not take this teaching lightly. I take You seriously that this is the master key to understanding how things work in the spiritual realm. I know that the spiritual always determines the natural good or bad. June 6th I want you to read Mark 4:14-20 and notice the phrase, “THE WORD” in every verse. This is because Jesus wants to emphasis the most important thing in your life to be a fruit bearing Christian is to understand the value of THE WORD. Also notice the number one target in your life that satan aims for is to stop THE WORD from producing in your life. Remember Jesus said that to understand how the Kingdom works, you must understand this parable. Verse 14 “The sower sows THE WORD. Verse 15 (Jesus is referring to verse 4) “… where THE WORD is sown; when they have heard, satan comes immediately, and takes away THE WORD that was sown in their hearts.” Just like the birds eat seed on top of the ground, it will never grow and bear fruit. Satan knows the best way to stop THE WORD from putting faith in your heart is to get you so busy with life, you forget the sermon you just heard your pastor teach. Can you remember what your pastor taught last Sunday or last Wednesday? Most people can’t! That is why it is always a good thing to take notes and discuss with fellow believers what you heard taught that day. Faith Confession: I understand Jesus’ most important parable, “the value of THE WORD”. I will not be ignorant of satan’s strategy to steal THE WORD that has been sown in my heart.

June 7th Mark 4 Verses 16 and 17 Jesus is referring to verses 5 and 6. Notice this, many believers, verse 16 “… hear THE WORD and immediately receive it with gladness.” Verse 17 and like the stony ground take no time to cultivate the soil of their heart to develop a root system. The only way to develop a spiritual root system is to obey Psalm 1:2 “Meditate in THE WORD day and night.” Mediate means to read THE WORD out loud and ponder what you are reading.

Faith Confession: I not only will receive God’s Word with gladness, but I will develop a spiritual root system by meditating in it day and night.

June 8th Mark 4:17 Jesus explains verse 6. This is the result of believers who get emotional about THE WORD but never take the time to get rooted in THE WORD. Verse 17 “And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction (circumstances and hard times) or persecution (people hounding you) arises for THE WORD’S sake, immediately they are offended (shut down, discouraged, and caused to stumble).” When the devil tries to turn the heat up through hard times or people attacks, choose to develop your root system. Tap into the vine by meditating in THE WORD. Jesus is the vine.

Faith Confession: I refuse to quit or be offended by persecution or hard times. I know satan has one goal: To separate me from THE WORD.

JUNE 9th Mark 4:18, 19 Jesus explains verse 7. Notice verse 19 “… things entering in, choke THE WORD, and it becomes unfruitful.” Jesus is referring to mature Christians because you can’t become unfruitful unless you were already being fruitful. Jesus warns us of three things the devil uses to choke THE WORD in the life of a fruit bearing Christian. Number one: “The cares of this world.” An example might be many Christians getting so caught up in divisive politics they grow cold spiritually. Number two: “The deceitfulness of riches”. It is not wrong to have riches, because God’s Word is very plain, He wants us to prosper, but it is wrong when riches have us. When Christians borrow and live beyond their means, they feel forced to work more than one job or excessive overtime and they quit bearing fruit. Number three: “The lust (desires) of other things”. That could be a sports fanatic or some other hobby. It is good to relax and have an outlet to unwind and enjoy life, but when it becomes a god and consumes all of your time and energy, you lose your productivity for the Kingdom.

Faith Confession: Jesus, warn me again that satan’s number one goal is to choke THE WORD that is working in my life. I will not get caught up in political or any other worthless debates. I will not live beyond my means. I will enjoy sports or hobbies or anything else I want, but I will not allow them to steal my fruitfulness for Jesus.

June 10th Mark 4:20 Jesus says the same thing in Luke 8:15. I like Luke’s version better. “But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard THE WORD, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” In this parable, Jesus told us the secrets to how things operate in the spiritual realm. It all revolves around the value that believers place upon THE WORD of God and the priority that they give it in their lives. He warns of satan’s strategies that have been used for 1000’s of years. Always remember, faith in Jesus and His Word overcame every tactic of the enemy.

Faith Confession: I choose to be good ground for THE WORD. I will keep an honest and good heart and bring forth fruit with patience thirty-fold, sixty-fold, and one hundred-fold.

June 11th Mark 4:23 “If any man has ears to hear, let him hear.” Verse 24 “And He said unto them, take heed WHAT YOU HEAR …” Luke 8:18 “Take heed therefore HOW YOU HEAR: for whosoever has, to him shall be given; and whosoever has not, from him shall be taken even that which he seems to have.” Jesus told us we must guard what we are listening to and also how we are hearing. He is not necessarily talking here about secular things, but more so about spiritual things. There is a lot of non-biblical and watered down doctrine always being taught in various places. In the times we live in many churches and internet, social media, and television preachers are preaching politically and socially popular things, but not Bible things. Always make sure “how you hear”. This means listen with the ears of your heart and not just your mind. The Gospel means Good News and so many times when we hear the true Gospel it sounds too good to be true. When your born again spirit tells you “yes” the word you are hearing is true, and your mind tells you “no”, go with your heart.

Faith Confession: The Bible is the written Word of God that reveals to me the living Word – the Lord Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I am who the Word says I am. I can have everything the Word says I can have. I can do everything the Word says I can do. I will always be careful of what I hear and how I hear.

June 12th Matthew 20:1-16 Read through these verses and then I’ll point out what Jesus wants us to see. Verses 1 and 2 God owns the earth and He calls Born Again believers to answer His call on their lives to be soul winners in whatever field He has them in. Verses 3 through 7 Some of us answer the call earlier in life than others and so we work in His fields longer than others. Verses 8 through 15 The Kingdom of God is not like a labor union. There is no seniority list. We are all responsible to do what we know in our hearts He has called us to do. Whether we have been saved since childhood or maybe much later in life, our reward is all the same. We receive the blessing of God on our life on earth, and then when we die and stand in front of Jesus, we want to hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Verse 16 “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.” This means He sees all believers equally. He is looking for faithfulness to answer His call whether we have been saved two weeks or many decades.

Faith Confession: I will always be faithful to do what Jesus puts in my heart to do. I will never be jealous when new believers walk in the same blessing that I have walked in for years. Jesus said that this is how His Kingdom operates.

June 13th Matthew 22:1-14 Again, read these verses. Verses 1 through 8 It looks to me like Jesus is talking about the Marriage Supper of the Lamb which all Born Again believers are invited to when we get to Heaven. Yet in this parable, many people reject Jesus when they are invited to receive Him as their Lord and Savior. Verse 9 “Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as you shall find, invite to the marriage.” Jesus again is telling us the fields of harvest are all around us. Verse 10 “So those servant went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests.” Verses 11 through 13 Jesus is saying you can’t sneak into Heaven. You must not only receive Jesus as your Savior, but you must live for Him too! There is an old saying, paraphrased, “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time.” But you can’t fool God any of the time! Verse 14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.

Faith Confession: I am grateful to be Born Again and my sins washed away by the Blood of Jesus. At every opportunity in my interactions with people, I will look for an opening to invite them to receive my Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

June 14th Matthew 24 Read verses 3 through 14 This passage isn’t a parable, rather Jesus looking into the future and seeing the time that we now live in. Verse 3 “… what shall be the sign of Jesus’ coming, and of the end of the age?” Verses 6 and 7 Jesus tells us there will be wars and continual threats of more wars. “Nations” means race or tribe; people groups. “Kingdoms” means government and rulers. Verses 9 through 12 Much of the world will have a satanic hatred for Christians and Jews. Political correctness will cause masses to be offended at every- body and everything. Demonic evil and hatred will prevail in society. Remember Jesus warned us of these things more than two thousand years ago. Verse 13 We are called “to endure unto the end”. This means keep working the fields that Jesus has assigned us to! Verse 14 “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” As you can see our assignment is to preach the Gospel one on one, as believers to support our local church in preaching the Gospel, and support missionaries to go to other nations.

Faith Confession: Jesus has warned me about the hatred and the day in which we live, so I am not surprised. He has given me my assignment as an End Time believer in His harvest fields. So I will be faithful to share the Gospel one on one, and support the Gospel with my prayers and finances.

June 15th Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away.” This has always been one of my favorite verses. Jesus is always the same and His Word is always the same because He and His Word are One. The heaven He talks about here is not God’s Heaven, but the atmosphere that surrounds the earth. When you think about somebody who passed away, you know they died. In this passage Jesus is referring to the Bible fact that the time is coming when God will destroy the earth and its atmosphere by fire and create a new earth and atmosphere. As believers, we need to build our lives around God’s Word because it will not pass away.

Faith Confession: I know that our life on earth and earth itself are only temporary. I know that Heaven and God’s Word are eternal and will last forever. I will not get side-tracked and focused on politically correct things or current events. I will stay with my assignment and share the Word of God with everyone I can.

June 16th Mark 4:26-29 Verse 26Jesus by a parable is explaining what takes place in the spiritual realm when we cooperate with the principles of the Kingdom of God. “… the Kingdom of God is as if a man plants seed into the ground.” Verses 27-28 There is always the man part and the God part in receiving His blessings. Our part is to hear the Word, speak the Word and act on the Word then go to bed, get up and just live our lives knowing that just as if you planted a seed in the ground, you have done your part. The God part is He honors your faith and causes the seeds to sprout and begin to grow when planted in the ground. We don’t understand it, just like we don’t understand how the Word of God when planted in our hearts and mixed with faith would produce healing, bring deliverance, restoration to families, or anything else that we are believing God for that is in line with His Word.

Faith Confession: Jesus told me how to cooperate with the principles of the Kingdom of God. I hear the Word, I speak the Word and I act on the Word. Then God causes the Word to come to pass in my life.

June 17th Mark 4:28 “For the earth brings forth fruit of itself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. Verse 29 But when the fruit ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” We not only must know how to plant, but we must know how to harvest. Too many believers are good at using their faith to plant, but they fail to bring in the harvest.

Faith Confession: Just as I am learning how to use my faith to receive from God, I will also be serious to learn how to bring my harvest in.

June 18th Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, what things so ever you desire, when you pray, BELIEVE THAT YOU RECEIVE THEM, AND YOU SHALL HAVE THEM.” Philippians 4: 6 “Don’t worry about anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication WITH THANKSGIVING LET YOUR REQUEST BE MADE KNOWN UNTO GOD.” These two verses explain how to harvest the crop that you have sown. Once you have prayed the Word of God in faith, refuse to worry about whether your faith is working or not. Instead, when worry comes, continually praise and thank the Father that you are having what you prayed. In my life, I have seen so many times, for example, after believing for healing, that one day I realized that the pain or the symptoms were gone. I didn’t even realize when it had happened because my thanksgiving and praise brought in my harvest.

Faith Confession: For today’s faith confession, here is a home work assignment. For something that you have already prayed for, stop asking Jesus over and over again to do it. Shift into harvesting mode. Start saying, “Thank You Jesus for bringing to pass in my life __________________.” Every time you think of it, thank Him that you have received!

June 19th Luke 6:46 “And why call you Me Lord, Lord, and DO NOT the things which I say?’ If you confess Jesus as your Lord then Jesus expects you to do the things that He speaks to you from the Bible and in your heart. The only way you will receive the victory and the blessings that Jesus provided for you from His death on the cross and His resurrection, is to be a James 1:22 “Doer of the Word”.

Faith Confession: Because I have asked Jesus to be Lord of my life, I commit to making my decisions and living my life in line with His Words that I read in the Bible.

June 20th Luke 6:47 “Whoever comes to Me, and HEARS MY SAYINGS, AND DOES THEM, I will show you who he is like: Verse 48 He is like a man which built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat violently against the house, and could not shake it, for it was founded upon a rock.” As a believer, if you choose as your lifestyle to be serious about acting on the Word of God that you hear, then no matter what crisis tries to destroy your life, you will not fall, but you will come out victorious every time.

Faith Confession: I take the Word of God very seriously. Everything that I see in the Word that bears witness with my spirit, I will put into practice. There is nothing that satan or this life, can use to defeat me.

June 21st Luke 6:46-49 Remember Jesus is teaching us by a parable. A parable is a natural illustration to get across or convey a spiritual truth. This particular parable tells us why some believers seem to never loose, while others seem to never win. Verse 49 “But HE THAT HEARS, and DOESN’T DO, is like a man that WITHOUT A FOUNDATION, built a house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat violently, and IMMEDIATELY IT FELL, AND THE RUIN OF THAT HOUSE WAS GREAT.” If you want to come out victorious in the crisis’s in life, it is going to take more than getting excited about a Sunday morning sermon. You must incorporate into your everyday life what you hear preached. Every time you act on the Word of God, you are a stronger faith foundation for your spiritual house, which is your life.

Faith Confession: I will not be like the foolish man who heard the Word of God, but never put into practice what He heard. I am a wise disciple of Jesus. My foundation is getting stronger every day because I put into practice the Word of God that I hear. There is no crisis or calamity that will destroy my life.

June 22nd Luke 12:15 “And He said unto them, take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the of things which he possesses.” God is not against us having things, but He is against things having us. We must always guard against the good things that God blesses us with taking our focus off of Jesus and His plan for our life.

Faith Confession: 3 John 2 says that God wants me to prosper and be in health, even as my soul prospers. I purpose to always put my spiritual prosperity above natural prosperity.

June 23rd Luke 12:16-21 Verses 16-18 In this parable, in modern communication, this would be like a Believer who begins to make a lot of money, ignores God, buys toys etc. All they can see is making more and more money and buying more and more things. Verse 19-21 These verses remind me of a successful business man in his 70’s, who owned his own construction company who went to my church years ago. His wife was always a tither and he argued with her continually about it. One Wednesday night they got into an argument in the church parking lot and he walked home; five or six miles. Soon after that he had a stroke. The doctors in the emergency room didn’t expect him to recover, but if he did, his brain would be damaged. I laid hands on him and prayed. The next day he came out of it. He told his us that while in a coma, Jesus appeared to him and told him. “You might as well come home because I can’t use you. You won’t even tithe.” He later told me that he had heard me teach this parable. He was greatly convicted because he had so many buildings and equipment that he was building another barn. After the Lord healed him, he was a faithful tither with his wife and they served God together and lived for many more healthy years.

Faith Confession: I know it is the will of God for me to prosper spiritually as well as financially. I will guard myself and always remember that Jesus and serving Him must be first.

June 24th Luke 13:6-9 In this parable Jesus is comparing the fig tree to a Believer’s life. In Verse 7 He said that He is looking for fruit in the life of a Believer. Verse 8 Many times we will be convicted in our hearts and know we have to change and return to our first love and bear Christian fruit again. Verse 9 If we continue to walk away from God and return to the ways of the world, we may get out from under His umbrella of protection and things may not turn out well. So, if you are convicted in your heart and know that you aren’t living right, then STOP! REPENT! Make an 180 degree turn around and run straight back to Jesus!

Faith Confession: Thank You Jesus for your goodness and mercy in my life. I am grateful for Your Spirit and Your grace to help me live and be a good witness for You. I receive correction, direction and anointing to always bear fruit for You.

June 25th John 4:34-35 “Jesus said to them, My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to FINISH HIS WORK. Verse 35 lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” Jesus is talking about witnessing and being a soul winner for Him. Remember in Matthew 4:19 He said, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Catching fish and bringing in the harvest are symbolic of winning people to Jesus. What Jesus is saying here is to always be alert for people who are ripe for the harvest – ready to be caught for the Kingdom of God.

Faith Confession: Jesus, teach me and help me to be sensitive in witnessing and praying with people to receive You as their Lord and Savior. Help me to be wise and alert where there is a “fish” that is ready to be caught.

June 26th John 4:36-38 “And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto life eternal: that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together. Verse 37 and here is that saying true, one sows, and another reaps. Verse 38 I sent you to reap where you have not labored: other men labored, and you have entered into their labors.” Sometimes when you witness to a person, it may seem hard. Other times a person may basic- ally ask you, “Will you please pray with me? I need to get right with God.” This is a person that other Believers have been witnessing to. Just like the hard person that you have witnessed to will be ready to get saved when another Believer witnesses to them. Then Jesus said that we will all rejoice together when a sinner receives Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

Faith Confession: I am bold, in Jesus’ Name to always talk to people everywhere I go about the goodness of God and who Jesus is.

June 27th Luke 19:10 “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which is lost.” Read John 8:1-11 A group of religious men caught a woman in adultery and wanted Jesus to join them in stoning her to death. That is much like religious people today always ready to harshly judge everyone except their own little group. These men ignored the man she was in adultery with. Look how Jesus responded to them. Verse 7 “… He who is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” Verse 9 “And the men being convicted by their own conscious, left one by one … and Jesus was left alone and the woman standing …” Verse 10 “… He said unto her, woman, where are your accusers? Has no man condemned you?” Verse 11 “She said, no man, Lord. And Jesus said to her, neither do I condemn you: go, and SIN NO MORE.” Jesus doesn’t ignore sin, He always wants to help a person to get free from sin and live right for Him.

Faith Confession: I will not be a mean, ugly religious person who always wants to damn to hell those around me who are living wrong. I will be like Jesus and always be ready to en- courage and show them the way out of their sin.

FOR THE LAST THREE DAYS OF THE MONTH, WE ARE GOING TO LOOK AT SOME THINGS THAT JESUS SAID IN REVELATION CHAPTERS 1-3 THAT ARE HELPFUL AND APPLY TO US TODAY

June 28th Revelation 2:2-7 “I know your works, and your labor, and your perseverance …” Verse 3 “You have persevered, and have patience, and for My Name’s sake, have labored and have not become weary.” Verse 4 “Nevertheless, I have something against you, because you have left your first love.” Verse 5 “Remember therefore, from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else, I will come to you quickly and … except you repent.” Verse 7 “He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; to him who overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” We must remember that we are not just working FOR the Lord, but we are working WITH Him. We serve Him out of love and not of duty. If your Christian life has become a burden, then you need to have more time in your prayer closet in fellowship with Jesus.

Faith Confession: I love Jesus for all that He has done for me. I will fellowship with Him every day and listen to the Holy Spirit. I will always remember that Jesus is my first love. The by- product is I serve Him by serving others with His love.

June 29th Revelation 3:1-6 “… I know your works, that you have a name (Christian) that you live, but you are dead.” Verse 3 “Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast and repent …” Verse 5 “He who overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white garments; AND I WILL NOT BLOT OUT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE …” Verse 6 “He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Is it possible for a Believer to lose his eternal salvation? According to Jesus, it is. It is not “once saved always saved”. It is “Once saved, you can stay saved if you choose to.”

Faith Confession: I am an overcoming overcomer. If I catch myself growing cold, I will quickly repent and do the right things that I have learned to do from Jesus. I have an ear and I will listen to what the Holy Spirit speaks to my heart.

June 30th Revelation 3:15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold or hot: I wish you were cold or hot. Verse 16 So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, will I vomit you out of My mouth.” If you have a glass of iced tea and let it set on a table, eventually the ice will melt and it will become room temperature, which is lukewarm. Likewise, if you have a steaming hot cup of tea, and leave it setting it will become room temperature which is also lukewarm. A believer who chooses to live like the world around him, will become just like the world and become of no effect because he has become the temperature of the world – lukewarm, concerning Christianity. Verse 19 “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Verse 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come into him, and will fellowship with him, and he with me.”

Faith Confession: Jesus, the door of my heart will always remain open for fellowship with You. I will always receive Your correction and say “no” to lukewarm and “yes” to staying spiritually on fire for You.
